Platinum Recruitment is working in partnership with a family-owned, luxury 4 star hotel on the South Devon coast and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Breakfast Chef to join their team, catering for the eateries within the hotel.

Our client is a family run, luxury 4 star hotel situated on the South Devon coast with enviable sea views. This beautiful property boasts a 2 AA Rosette main fine dining restaurant as well as a terrace bar and poolside bistro as well and an on-site food-led pub – the latter of which is run by a separate team of chefs.
Fresh, locally sourced produce is a proud feature of the hotel, mixing classic dishes and new favourites. The menu for the fine dining restaurant changes daily with a weekly rotation whilst the terrace bar menu at lunch offers a selection of daily chefs specials alongside the lunch menu.
What’s involved?
As a Breakfast Chef, it’s your job to ensure guests start their day the right way; with a hearty full English breakfast or a variety of options you’ve prepared for the breakfast buffet.
Your day will start at 6am/6.30am when out of season, you can expect to cater for an average of 60-70 covers each morning but during peak summer season, you can see this increase to an average of 110-140 covers each morning.
Collectively, there is a well-established kitchen team of 11. Once breakfast service is over you will assist the rest of the team in preparing and cooking lunch for guests dining in the Terrace Bar, ensuring yourself and others have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of heath and safety at all times. The Terrace Bar is popular with both guests and non-residents alike and the menu offers a selection of daily chefs specials alongside the lunch menu. The menu features a variety of delicious lighter meals and snacks ranging from soups and sandwiches to its famous seafood choices; all sourced locally in Devon.
By the time your shift ends at around 3.30pm, you’ll have assisted with cleaning up from lunch service and be prepared ready for breakfast service the next day.
Experience in a similar establishment would be preferred for this role.
